Tea of the Week-Birthday Cake
Hello again everyone! Happy New Years Eve! Since the earth is one year older, or at least this is when we celebrate the new year. This week's tea is Birthday Cake by David's Tea (Do you sense a theme yet? I really like David's tea). I first got this tea in David's Tea's Happy Collection. Birthday cake tea is one of my absolute favourite teas. It smells amazing, and tastes fantastic. It contains red and green rooibos, honeybush, freeze-dried ice cream bits, and SPRINKLES. Yes... Sprinkles. I love it so much. I highly HIGHLY recommend it.

Tea of the Week-Santa's Secret
Hey Everyone! Happy Tuesday! Also, Happy Christmas Eve! I hope you are all enjoying this Christmas season and having lots of fun with your families and friends. This weeks tea is the third and final tea from the David's Tea Holiday Collection and it is by far my favourite tea in the collection. It's called Santa's Secret and you can find it here. It's a Chinese black tea with peppermint leaves and these cute little candy sprinkles! It tastes really good and I would definitely buy it again. I'm hoping they have it again next Christmas!

Tea of the Week-Gingerbread
Hey Everyone! It's Tuesday, and that means it's time for another Tea of the Week. This week's tea is again part of David's Tea's Holiday collection which I got from my mom. It's called Gingerbread tea and you can find it here. It has rooibos, green rooibos, honeybush, cinnamon, currants, crystalized ginger, pineapple, and safflower petals. It's perfect for winter.
I do like this tea, but I don't think I would buy it again on it's own. I'm not a huge fan of the ginger and cinnamon flavour, but it was really nice to try it out.

Will you be my Bridesmaids?
I recently asked four very special ladies in my life to be my bridesmaids and I thought I would share with you how I did it. I made these cards and gave them to them. Not the most exciting thing in the world but I'm really happy with how they turned out.

I've decided to start a new weekly blog post segment. Tea of the week! Every week I will feature one of my favourite teas and tell you a little bit about it. I love tea. Something about it is so comforting. I have actually been wanting to do this for a while, so I hope you guys like it!

Stress
This week is finals week for me. And I am quite stressed. I have four exams, and they all happen at night (7-9pm) and occur today, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. I'm so looking forward for this week to be over. As I was looking over my geography notes for tonights exam I found myself getting more and more stressed. I knew it was time to take a break. I made some tea, had some lunch, went for a walk, watched this Monday's Blimeycow video (which was amazing, I might add) and now I'm blogging. I think it's good to take breaks. It keeps you sane and helps you focus. For me this is a constant struggle. Lately I'm finding that I get extremely stressed over the littlest things. I'm trying to figure out a solution and what is causing the problem in the first place, but for now I've decided to make a conscious decision to take breaks, eat well, and get enough sleep. I think it's a good choice.
What do you do to de-stress?

A Year Of Dates-November
November's date is the first of our year of dates that I gave Andrew for our three year anniversary. This date was simple, a coffee date at a new coffee shop...
Let's try out the Robin's Nest in Elmira!
Inside the envelope you
will find a gift card.
Let's be adventurous!
And super hipster.
I'm excited to try something new with you!
Love, Sarah
The Robins Nest is Elmira's one very hipster coffee shop that I think is pretty cute. We drove over there after dinner one Friday and ordered our drinks. Andrew got apple cider, I got a London Fog, which is like a tea latte. They were both very good. Andrew tried a sip of mine, it wasn't his "cup of tea" :P
A Year Of Dates!
Yes, you read the title correctly. This year for Andrew and my three year anniversary I made him a year of dates! The package contained 12 envelopes, one for every month of the year, starting with November! Each envelope has a pre-planned and pre-paid-for date inside. At the begining of each month Andrew will open the envelope and we will decided when to have our date!
I will be sharing stories about the dates we go on with you guys as this next year passes. I am super excited about all of this.

Being Engaged
As you guys probably already know I recently got engaged! This is a super exciting time in my life and I thought I would share with you guys some of the things I have noticed.
I feel so much different from when we were just dating
But at the same time, I don't feel different at all. It's a weird feeling.I am abnormally attached to my ring
It was actually so difficult for me to give my ring to a jeweler to get it resized. Those four days were much more emotional than I am proud of. I was actually so worried that my ring would be the one they would lose or accidentally switch with someone elses! How crazy and irrational is that?I keep forgetting that Andrew is now my fiance, not my boyfriend
I'm getting better at this. I've just been calling him my boyfriend for so long that it's difficult to make the switch.I have wedding brain
I am pretty much constantly thinking about weddings. I find myself day-dreaming in lectures, while driving and while I'm working on assignments. Basically, I have my head in the clouds... All the time.AND

Oh yes, I've started planning. I'm so excited. But at the same time I find myself over stressing when I think of how much there is to do! Overall though I am one happy engaged lady.

I'm Getting Married!
I have such big news to tell you guys!
Get ready.
If you hate lovey dovey things you will probably want to skip this post.
Are you ready?
Good.
Here we go!
On Saturday, October 19th, 2013 Andrew asked me to marry him! And, of course, I said YES!!
I'M ENGAGED GUYS!!!
And I would like to share with you how it happened.
So on Saturday Andrew came to my house and brought me red flowers. Now, I know what you might be thinking, "Sarah, why does it matter that they were red flowers?"
Red flowers are a symbol of love and passion. Andrew has never gotten me red flowers before, he was specifically saving them for the day he was going to propose. (isn't he just the sweetest?)
I put the flowers in a vase and then we were on our way. He had told me we were going to the Christian bookstore in Hanover, which is my favourite Christian bookstore and it is right by the camp where Andrew and I met.
We began the just over an hour drive up to Hanover and talked and drank tea. It was lovely.
Then he missed the first turn to Hanover, and the next one, and the next one.
I started getting a little suspicious.
He took the turn into camp and I was almost certain I knew what he was doing. I was so excited. We parked just outside of camp and went for a walk. To the Air Rifelry range.
Now in case you don't know the air rifelry range is the spot where we officially met for the first time.
He then got down on one knee, said some very sweet things (which I wish I could remember!) and asked me to marry him!
I said Yes!
I am so incredibly excited!
I'm going to be a Mrs!

Why Fall is The Best
Out of all the seasons, fall is by far my favourite. All the other seasons have their benefits but for me, fall has the most benefits of all. Here are some of the reasons why I like fall so much:
The Weather
Not too hot, Not too cold. Perfect weather for jeans and a sweater. Perfect for walks at night and I can study outside.
The Food
Thanksgiving was this past weekend for me. I like seeing my family and I enjoy all the food that is involved. especially desert.
Picture Opprotunities
I love taking photos and fall has the perfect backdrop for outdoor photos.
Fairs
I love going to fairs. Eating good food, going on rides, demolition derbys. So much fun and excitement.
The Smell
I love the smell of fall. From leaves, to turkey, to hot apple pie.
Football
My brother is playing football right now in highschool. I love watching his games.
What are your favourite things about fall? Do you have a favourite season?

I've Been Nominated!!! Twice!!!
So today is Monday. Which means I have 9 hours of class. Which for the record, is a TON of learning. I do not look forward to Mondays. But two very special girls made this Monday amazing. Morgan at Morgan's Blog and Hayley at Victorious Heroine both nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award (VBA). I am so flattered. Both of you made my Monday SO much better. So thank you. You guys make me smile so much.
This award requires some things from me. First I am going to nominate 5 blogs for the Vesatile Blogger Award. Then I will tell you guys 7 more facts about me!
Here are the blogs I nominate:
Suzanne inspires me. She is the kind of awesome wife that I one day hope to be. I love reading about her adventures.
Joseph makes me laugh, both in "real life" and from his Blog. I am so happy I know him.
Kaylin's posts are always interesting. I can tell she puts a lot of thought into her posts.
I love reading about Camille and Jacob's dates, they remind me that going out on dates is crucial to relationships, both married and non married.
Reading Lori's blog gives me so many ideas for how I can show my love to Andrew. Even though we are not married and not all of the tips are applicable she still gives me some great tips on how to be a better girlfriend.
Be sure to check out these blogs. They are some of my favourites!
7 Facts About Me:
- I am currently a second year University Student at the University of Guelph
- Fall is my most favourite season

Back To School
This week has been busy, I started classes last Friday, had Andrew's family reunion on Saturday, My church's picnic on Sunday and then classes again.
Surprising, I haven't gotten too stressed out. I am feeling a little stress, but I think I'm doing really well at getting things done early. I'm pretty proud of myself.
This semester I have Coop class, Human Impact on the Environment, Structure and Application of Microcomputers, Software Design 3 and Object Oriented Programming. So far, I'm really liking most of my classes. However, I am a little upset with the University. They took away my study space. So now I need to go find a new area that will be quiet, not crowded and have desks. This is surprisingly difficult. The library seems to always be full and the other places on campus are too loud.
I'm in a pickle. But not actually, Being inside a pickle would probably be pretty messy. And Sticky...
Anyways, I just thought I would let you guys know whats going on with me lately.

Advice On: Picking a University
Hey Everyone! As most of you know I go to the University of Guelph. I love my school and I am 100 percent certain that I chose the right school for me. I thought I would share with you how I came to this choice.
When I was applying to different schools I knew a few things. 1) I wanted to live close to home and if possible, at home. 2) I wanted to go for computer science/software engineering. I then had a few options. University of Guelph, University of Waterloo, and Wilfred Laurier University are all close to where I live. McMaster University and Redeemer University College were about an hour or so away from home so I also considered those. All of these schools had computer science and software engineering programs so then I had to make some choices. Redeemer is a private Christian University and the cost of applying was free at the time. So I applied there. I only got to choose three universities to apply to out of the four remaining schools. I talked with my guidance counselor at my highschool and she told me that she recommends McMaster over Laurier because they have a coop program. So with that I sent out my applications for Waterloo, Guelph and McMaster.
I then awaited my acceptance and rejection letters. But before I got all of my replies, I knew I wanted to go to Guelph. Here is what brought me to Guelph, and not the other schools I considered
Waterloo was my first choice then, but as the year went on, I realized more and more that Waterloo was not a good fit for me. It is a big university that seems to be spread out all over the city. I come from a small town and this big city feel scared me. I went with my Earth and Space Sciences class in grade 12 and sat in some of the lectures there, I felt like I did not fit in. I could not see myself in the classrooms, walking around the campus or eating at the cafeteria. I just didn't feel like I belonged.
My mom (who I love very much) is currently studying at McMaster. So she took me to visit the school on one of the days she had class. Her class was really interesting. I believe it was something about the history of Christianity. The people in her class were awesome. However, as we were walking around campus I saw black coats everywhere. I mean everywhere. I was wearing a bright green coat. McMaster seemed far to serious for me. Again, I could not see myself walking to the library to study, living in the residences or sitting outside under a tree. I didn't feel right.
I didn't end up getting accepted into Waterloo or McMaster. Getting those rejection letters was tough. Even though by then I had already gotten my schedule for Guelph and was planning for the upcoming year. I wasn't fun reading that I wasn't good enough for them. But it all worked out.
I got accepted into Redeemer a week after I applied. It was my first acceptance letter and I was so excited that they wanted me! They even offered me a scholarship! I looked around their website, researched all the costs and everything. As I was looking up all this information I came to a conclusion. This school is just too expensive. I couldn't afford the tuition and living expenses. I probably would have really loved Redeemer. Being surrounded by Christians would have been an amazing experience. But without a coop program and with all the costs I just couldn't do it. I declined their offer.
In March I got my acceptance letter into the University of Guelph. I was so excited! It felt good to be accepted into another school. I was pretty sure I wanted to go to Guelph. Even though I was wanting to just accept the offer, my dad recommended that we go on a campus tour. So we made the 45 minute trip out to Guelph and signed up for a campus tour. The tour guide was really enthusiastic and took us through all the different places at the university. I loved it. I could see myself sitting in the lecture halls taking notes, eating at the food court and studying in the library. I loved the outdoorsiness of the campus and I felt like I belonged there. At the end of the day my dad and I went to the bookstore and I bought an official University of Guelph sweater. My decision was made.
That's how I ended up at the University of Guelph. It was a tough process, I did come out with a few tips/suggestions for those of you who are applying to schools. Here are my tips for applying to university.

That's how I ended up at the University of Guelph. It was a tough process, I did come out with a few tips/suggestions for those of you who are applying to schools. Here are my tips for applying to university.
Do your Research.
Figure out what schools have the programs you are interested in. Do you want to be in coop? Will you be living in residence? How many years is the program? How much will it cost. Write it all down! I put all my information into a spreadsheet so I could compare the different universities.
Seek guidance from others.
Talk to you parents, friends, guidance counselors at school. They may have some good advice to offer you.
Pray about it.
This is a big decision. Pray and ask God for wisdom in choosing the right school.
Go on campus tours.
Visiting the campus is the best way to know if you like the school or not. I highly recommend that you go on as many tours as possible.
There you have it, my advice on applying to university. Feel free to leave a comment if you have other suggestions!

I do not have a future career as a gutter cleaner.
Yesterday I helped to clean out my grandparents house. This involved washing all the windows. We found a problem with one of the eavestroughs and then proceeded to take all the guards off an clean out all the sand and mud from them. I spent a fair amount of time moving along the roof unscrewing a billion screws from the roof. Maybe it wasn't QUITE a billion, but it seemed pretty close! It was hard work. Unfortunately I hurt my back (it happens often). So I now need to go to the chiropractor (also happens often). I also got an awesome TOMS tan... Well, only kind of awesome. Oh well.
It felt really good to help out my grandparents. Even if it means that I'm sore and have awkwardly tanned feet.
Happy Wednesday!

Current Favourites
I finished my exam! I am so relieved. I was under a lot of stress and a lot of that had to do with the online course I was taking. I now feel so much more relaxed. I haven't told you guys about my current favourites in a while so I thought that this would be a good way to celebrate the end of my summer course. So without further a-due, here are my current favourites:
Seeing My Best Friend
Katelyn is my best friend. She is so special to me and I don't get to see her very often but when I do I almost always feel better. She is amazing!
Andrew's Sweaters
Andrew let me borrow a couple of his sweaters while he is gone at camp. There's just something about the way his sweaters smell that makes me feel so happy.
"Real Mail"
My friends from camp have been sending me letters! I absolutely love getting mail from people, especially real mail (mail delivered by a mail man). Something about hand written letters feels so intentional, like whoever wrote it put actual thought into it. Email sometimes seems like it can be thrown together so quickly. I love real mail.
New Fabric
I got this fabric from walmart recently, I'm so excited to use it! Keep your eye out for a post about what I create with it!
Camera Remote
I got a camera remote recently. I really like it, here's a picture from when I first got the remote.
I'm so excited that my exam is over! I'm so happy that I can blog guilt-free now! Keep your eye out for more posts here now that classes are out!
