DIY Wedding Bow-Tie Dog Collar
Today I am sharing with you a tiny sewing project I just completed. It's a bowtie for my dog (Freddie) to wear on our wedding day! I did not make the directions for this on my own, so I will just share the link for the tutorial with you. If you want to make this yourself you can find the directions here. I'm really happy with how it turned out and I think my dog looks so cute!

Calling...Hydro people to set up payments for OUR APARTMENT! That's right. Andrew and I signed a lease for an apartment last Saturday! Andrew moves in on October 1st and I will move in once we get married! The apartment is two bedrooms, one bathroom and we are so excited to get started on all sorts of DIY home projects.
Lighting...The candles from walmart I bought a while ago. I love the vanilla scent!
Making...Bedside tables! Andrew and I made these after I found the idea on pinterest! I am so happy with how they turned out.
Watching...Rising star with Andrew. There's something about being able to participate in the show that makes it so exciting and addictive.
Planning...Not many wedding things right now. There isn't much more I can organize right now, but it's hard to relax and remind myself that I have done enough for now.

Tea of the Week-Root Beer Float
This weeks tea of the week is yet another iced tea! Recently David's Tea had a sale on a lot of their summer tea and tea accessories so obviously a trip to david's tea was a must! I picked up a root beer float pitcher pack since it was under three dollars! Root Beer float is a medium caffeine black tea. I love the cinnamon and white chocolate flavour. I'm curious as to how this tea would taste hot but the pack I bought only had enough for one pitcher. As you can see from the picture I don't have much left, but I might try the last glass as a tea-pop! That's when you add sparkling water to the iced tea. I had a tea pop in david's tea once because I got a free cup of tea with my Frequent Steeper card and the salesperson recommended it and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm really glad I bought root beer float. It's one of those really fun teas that come out every once in a while. I highly recommend you try it!
What's your favourite tea this week?

Searching... For more tea! I'm running out of tea both at home and at work. I think I might wait until fall and see what fall teas either Bentley tea house in Fergus or David's tea have. Either way if you have any suggestions let me know!
Wearing... The last pair of pants I have that are clean. Don't worry, I put laundry in tonight so I'll have more pants for work tomorrow.
Needing... To work on the bridesmaid dresses. I really want to make all the bridesmaids dresses and I have the patterns and fabric, I just need to cut them out and start sewing. Unfortunately cutting out the fabric is my least favourite part of the dress making process, so I've been putting it off for a long time. Hopefully this weekend will be productive and I will be able to get all the dresses cut out!
Moving... A little slower. I worked some overtime earlier this week and my back is really talking back to me now. I'm sure it will go away soon, but it's making me walk and move a lot slower than normal.
Eating... Lots of Peanut Butter and Jam sandwiches. We haven't had too many leftovers this week and I'm not a fan of lunch meats. I don't mind. I love my peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwiches. You have to put peanut butter on both sides of the bread though, so the jam doesn't soak the bread.

My Wedding Shoes + My Something Blue
Today I am going to share with you a small detail of my wedding outfit. Yellow is my favourite colour so I decided to go with a bold colour for my wedding shoes. I saw the idea of tying a blue ribbon around the heel of your shoe on pinterest and I thought it was just so cute. So I did it. I'm so excited to wear these on our wedding day!

Tea of the Week-Just Peachy
It's been a while since I reviewed a tea! This weeks tea of the week is featured as an iced tea, but I also like this tea as a hot tea. It is called Just Peachy and is made by David's Tea. Just Peachy is a simple tea that is really sweet and fruity. It has apple, sweet blackberry leaves, and peach. It quickly became one of my favourites this summer after my mom surprised me with it along with the blue pitcher you see in the picture. I love that this tea is caffeine free and I loved learning how to make iced tea.
Making iced tea is really simple, you brew tea like normal and then chill it and serve it over ice! I've been trying iced banana tea as well and I'm hoping to make another trip to David's tea in the near future to get some more herbal fruity teas to try iced!
Have you ever tried to make iced tea?

DIY: Paper Flower Centerpieces {Part 2}
After I had finished making all the paper flowers for the other centerpieces, Andrew and I realized we had only made enough for half of the centerpieces. We knew it would take way too long to make enough paper flowers to have all the same centerpieces for the 14 tables, so we decided to make a second type for half of the tables. These centerpieces take WAY less time but I think they look beautiful! Here is how you make them!
You Will Need:
-Paper (We used cardstock from Micheal's)
-Hot Glue
-Jars
-Spray Paint
-Ribbon
-Scissors
-Sand
-5" Styrofoam balls
Instructions:
1) Make the flowers. We made about 300 of these paper flower roses. You can find the tutorial on how to make them here.
2) Spray paint jars desired colour (Andrew did this for me) and fill the jars with sand. We did this since we thought the flowers would make the centerpieces top-heavy and we didn't want them to tip over.
3) Hot glue the styrofoam ball to the top of the jar.
4)Tie the ribbon under the ball
5) Stick the paper flowers into the styrofoam until it is cover in flowers
These centerpieces are MUCH faster than the other ones. I am really glad we decided to go with two different kinds instead of spending a ton more time on the first type.

Craving...Salty things, as always. Those of you who know me know how much I love my chips. Right now I'm really wanting Ruffles Regular chips.
Cleaning... Nothing really. Cleaning my room has fallen to the bottom of my priority list. It's pretty bad. I'm trying to to worry too much about it though
Daydreaming... About 10 months from now! I'll probably be sitting on a beach somewhere (although that is up to Andrew) on our Honeymoon! I love all the crafts associated with our wedding but there are times when I just really want to be married. Time can seem to move fast enough!
Growing...My hair out! Well not entirely intentionally... I need to get a haircut. But I've lost all motivation to call and book an appointment. I should probably do it soon, because it's getting crazy. This picture was taken almost two months ago and I thought it was time for a haircut then!
Reading... Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas. I got this book because of a recommendation from one of the (many) youtube channels I watch, and so far I am really liking it! I'm really excited to gain a new perspective on how a marriage is supposed to be.

DIY: Paper Flower Boutonnieres
If you are going with paper flowers at your wedding, you're obviously going to want paper flower boutonnieres. In today's post I will tell you about how we made the boutonnieres for our big day!
You Will Need:
-Wire
-Fake Leaves (we got ours from Walmart)
-Ribbon
-Corsage Pins
-Hot Glue
-Needle and thread
Instructions:
1) Attach the paper flower to the wire using some hot glue
2) Add the fake leaf with hot glue
3) Wrap the base of the corsage with the floral tape until it is nice and sturdy
4) Wrap ribbon around the base and sew it in place
5) Add the corsage pins for pinning them to the suits!
I think that these turned out really well, It took a couple tried to get them looking right and to find the best way to secure them. I'm really happy with the end result!

DIY: Paper Flower Bouquets
Today I am going to be telling you guys about how Andrew and I made the Bride/Bridesmaid bouquets for our wedding! I love how these turned out, but they were a little frustrating to get just the way I wanted them, so hopefully you can learn a thing or two from this post if you are thinking of making your own bouquets for your wedding.
You Will Need:
-Wire 16 gauge- We ended up getting our wire from Canadian Tire, we searched and searched through craft stores but nothing was the right size or inexpensive enough. We recommend just going to a hardware store in the first place.
-Floral Tape- We got ours at Walmart
-Ribbon- I used green for the bridesmaids bouquets, and ivory for my bouquet, but you can pick whatever you would like!
-Corsage Pins- We got these at Walmart
Instructions:
1) Using the floral tape, attach the wire (cut to about 8 inch strips) to the skewer of the flowers. I used 15 flowers per bridesmaid bouquet, and 25 flowers for my bouquet.
2) Tape the stems together. I found it worked best when I took two flowers and taped them together then added a third flower and so on until the bouquet was finished, instead of trying to hold all 15 flowers in place at once.
3) Wrap the ribbon around the bouquet and secure it with the corsage pins. I tried to sew the ribbon in place, but it turned out to take to long, so I just used two pins to hold the ribbon in place.
This was a fairly easy process, but it was pretty time consuming. I love the end result though! I think they are so unique.
