Our DIY Wedding

We did a ton of things ourselves for our wedding. I have decided to compile a list of the things we did to reflect. I hope to inspire you to do things yourself. It's a really fun and rewarding process. I have included links where applicable for tutorials I made as well.

Paper Flowers

We made all the flowers (I'm not exagerating, Literally ALL) for our wedding.

We made the corsages and boutonnieres for the groomsmen, parents and grandparents.

We did SO much for our wedding. And I am so pleased with how it turned out. It was a ton of work but it came together beautifully.

Our Wedding Day-Part 4-After Ceremony and Reception

Between the ceremony and the reception we had family pictures and bridal party pictures. We had a HUGE list of family pictures. But we got through all of them and no one was left out. I decided to take of my shoes for this part and I was so glad that I did. It made movement way easier.

Our photographer then took the two of us up to the balcony of the church, which is where we normally sit on Sundays and took a couple of pictures of us there. We then drove to Elora to take some bridal party photos! This was probably my favourite part of the day. I loved getting to spend time with Andrew and our family and friends. We finished our pictures with plenty of time to spare and then drove to Alma for the reception!

We were pretty early for the reception as well but it gave us time to bustle my dress and say hello to some more people.

We entered the reception and had a wonderful meal. Seriously, I was blown away. We had turkey and roast beef, with mashed potatoes and veggies. Everything was so tasty. While dinner was going on several people went to the mini golf station to try to get a hole in one to make us kiss and we were seranated by many of our friends and family as part of our kissing menu.

We had dessert and speeches which were perfect. Not to long, not to short and very very special. We had the first dances, Andrew and I are not dancers so our first dance was pretty funny. We danced to Something Beautiful by the Newsboys. Then my dad and I danced to My Girl by the temptations and Andrew and his mom danced to Forever young by Rod Stewart. Our bridal party then got up and danced to Shut up and Dance by Walk the Moon. I was so relieved to get the dancing done because that meant I had nothing else to do for the rest of the night. I went around and talked to a lot of people which was fun but I was exhausted. by about 8:30 I was ready to go home. But I waited it out until 10 and then I found Andrew and told him I wanted to go home. The DJ played our last song Don't Stop Believing and then we headed out.
